Responsibilities: • Consults with application teams to develop database objects and persistence strategy to support application development • Provides assistance to application development teams to design and develop a physical database schema. Works with application teams and architecture to implement logical models (data and/or domain) taking into consideration performance and data maintenance constraints • Designs and implements integrity enforcement strategies such as type safety, referential integrity rules and constraints. Works with application teams to determine where integrity should be enforced • Collaborates with application development teams on the design of the data access layer within their applications. This includes selecting the appropriate technology for implementation such as stored procedures, dynamic SQL, or object relational mapping (ORM) technologies. Helps teams to work with language/platform specific database driver issues. Helps to design the isolation and transaction model for applications • Develops and debugs stored procedures and triggers for applications that require them.
